The Bremen State Criminal Police Office is a state authority of the police enforcement service and an integral part of the criminal police / state criminal police department (K / LKA).

Daniel Heinke has been Head of the Criminal Police / LKA Directorate since August 2016 .

tasks

The State Criminal Police Office is responsible for the conduct of investigations and the guideline competence in the fight against crime as well as crime prevention .

The State Criminal Police Office is the central office of the state in accordance with Section 1 (2) of the Law on the Federal Criminal Police Office . One of his tasks

  • to professionally manage and supervise the criminal investigation activities of the law enforcement service;
  • the collection and evaluation of the information and documents that are important for the prosecution and preventive fight against criminal offenses
  • keeping the crime statistics
  • the implementation of forensic and identification investigations
  • educating the population about the possibilities of preventing criminal offenses.
