Daniel Hechter Paris is a French fashion and lifestyle brand that is managed in the fashion segment by a total of 45 licensees worldwide. In addition to men's and women's clothing, accessories and consumer goods are also part of the range. The current owner of the brand has been a former licensee since 1998, Miltenberger Otto Aulbach GmbH , based in Miltenberg , Germany .

history

The brand was founded in 1962 by the French fashion designer Daniel Hechter , who wanted to make high fashion suitable for everyday use and accessible to a wide audience with his first women's collection . Over the years, the brand was gradually expanded - initially with a children's and men's collection, and later with sports and leisure wear.

From 1977 the brand expanded into neighboring product categories: Gradually, licenses were issued for “eyewear”, writing utensils, furnishings and decorative items, as well as perfume , watches and leather goods . The most significant expansion was the award of the license for Daniel Hechter shoes in 1997, with which the brand was able to gain recognition in the German-speaking region. From 1996 the license holder was Erich Rohde GmbH , based in Schwalmstadt in northern Hesse . Since 2013 the AstorMueller group has been the current licensee with "DANIEL HECHTER SHOES AG".

In 1998 there was a change of ownership: One of the previous licensees - Miltenberger Otto Aulbach GmbH - took over all trademark rights, restructured and modified the collections, so that the international development of the brand was promoted.

Key figures and positioning

The brand achieves most of its annual sales (90%) in the clothing segment, with men's clothing clearly distinguishing itself from women's clothing. The other 10% of sales are distributed among the various accessories, of which the shoe collection generates the highest sales. The most important geographic sales market is Europe , followed by Africa and Asia .

Daniel Hechter defines himself as a lifestyle brand for trend-conscious and fashion-oriented customers who have set themselves the goal of integrating high fashion into everyday life. It has a total of around 2,500 sales outlets worldwide. Two collections are published annually in all segments .
