Live and act

Hechter first became known to a wider public in 1957 when Brigitte Bardot wore a model he had designed in the film “Une Parisienne”. In 1962 he founded his own company Daniel Hechter Paris and presented his first collection . He later switched to using his fashionable designs to create collections for a wide range of buyers. Daniel Hechter is counted among the pioneers of prêt-à-porter . In the 1970s he also produced ski and tennis clothing.

One of Daniel Hechter's preferences was football : he was one of the biggest donors to the Paris Saint-Germain team and from 1974 to 1978 their club president, for whom he personally designed a new dress. When the club came under criticism because of black coffers, he resigned his office, but remained connected to league football ; Between 1986 and 1989 he took on a management role again, this time at Racing Strasbourg .

In 1997 he retired from the clothing store and now lives in Switzerland in Geneva . In 1998, Miltenberger Otto-Aulbach-GmbH acquired the Daniel Hechter brand.
