Daniel Herzog (Bishop)

Daniel William Herzog (born July 9, 1941 in Ogdensburg , New York ) is a former Anglican Bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America . He was the 8th Bishop of Albany from 1998 to 2007 .

In May 1971 he became a deacon ordained and received in November 1971 his ordination . He was ordained bishop in 1997 by Edmond Lee Browning and David Standish Ball and Gordon Paul Scruton . He married Carol Anne Penfield on February 27, 1965 and has five children. In March 2007 he joined the Roman Catholic Church .

In April 2010, he and his wife returned to the Episcopal Church and received readmission to the Anglican priesthood.
