Daniel Huybrechts

Life

Huybrechts studied mathematics from 1985 at the Humboldt University in Berlin , where he obtained his diploma under Herbert Kurke in 1989 . Then he was at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn . In 1992 he received his doctorate from Kurke ( Stable vector bundles on algebraic surfaces. Tyurin's method for studying the geometry of modular spaces ). In 1994/95 he was at the Institute for Advanced Study and in 1996 at IHES . In 1996 he was an assistant at the University of Essen , where he completed his habilitation in 1998. In 1997/98 he was at the École normal supérieure . From 1998 he was professor at the University of Cologne , from 2002 at the École polytechnique (Chargé de Cours) and professor at the University of Paris VII . Since 2005 he has been a professor at the University of Bonn .

For example, Huybrechts investigated K3 surfaces and their higher-dimensional analogues ( compact Hyperkähler manifolds ) and modular spaces of sheaves for varieties .

In 2010 he was invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Hyderabad ( Hyperkähler Manifolds and Sheaves ), in 2017 he was elected to the Academia Europaea .
