Daniel J. Schreiber

Daniel J. Schreiber (born August 11, 1965 in Hilden ) is a German art historian and director of the Museum of Fantasy (Buchheim Museum) in Bernried am Starnberger See .

Schreiber studied philosophy , ethnology and German and comparative folklore at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He then completed his master's degree at the University of Hamburg in the two main subjects of philosophy and art history as well as in the minor subject of ethnology.

Daniel J. Schreiber's professional career initially took him from the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg (1998–2001) via the Böttcherstraße art collections in Bremen (2002–2006) to the Frieder Burda Museum in Baden-Baden (2006–2007). From 2007–2009 he worked at the Arp Museum Rolandseck before taking on the position of managing curator of the Kunsthalle Tübingen in 2009 . In August 2013, he finally became director of the Museum of Fantasy in Bernried, named after Lothar-Günther Buchheim .
