Daniel Joachim Christian Teßmann (born March 27, 1803 in Kemnitzerhagen , † January 19, 1886 in Greifswald ) was a German lawyer and mayor of Greifswald.

Life

Daniel Joachim Christian Teßmann attended the Greifswald city school and in 1821 was one of the first students to pass the Abitur after it was converted into a grammar school. He studied law and became a member of the Arminia / Greifswald fraternity in 1821 . He was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD . In the same year he established himself as a lawyer and notary in Greifswald. In 1832 he became chairman of the civic college and director of the city court. In 1850 he was awarded the title of District Judge. In 1852 he became municipal syndic of Greifswald. From 1858 to 1878 he was the city's first mayor. In 1872 he was appointed a secret councilor. In 1861 he became a member of the Prussian manor house as a representative for the city of Greifswald. In 1878 he was appointed a member of the manor out of the utmost confidence.
