Daniel Jones (Linguist)

Daniel Jones (born September 12, 1881 in London , † December 4, 1967 ) was an English phonetician who primarily researched the phonetics of the English language .

Jones was the first phonetician to fully describe Received Pronunciation . Since 1921 he was a professor at the University of London .
