Daniel Male

Daniel Male (* 1625 ; † May 21, 1701 in Berlin ) was an electoral Brandenburg court - goldsmith and elder of the guild .

Life

Daniel Male came to Berlin in 1650 and from 1667 was one of the goldsmiths at the court of the Great Elector Friedrich Wilhelm III , along with Ludwig Barat, Andreas Mollin, Ewald Raupe and Bernhard Wiedemann . From 1671 until his death he was senior senior master of the guild.

family

She was married to Anna Catharine born male. Fritze (1636–1698), her eldest son named Daniel Male (1660–1721) also became royal Prussia. Court goldsmith.

Works

Daniel Male created, among other things, a gilded silver drinking cup in the shape of a deer, possibly a design by Andreas Schlüter . The occasion was the killing of a 66-ender red deer in the forests of the former Briesen forest ranger by Friedrich III. , Margrave and Elector of Brandenburg, on September 18, 1698.

Honors

In 1700 Andreas Schlueter made the tomb for Daniel Male and his wife for the Nikolaikirche in Berlin .
