Daniel McFarlan Moore

Daniel McFarlan Moore (born February 27, 1869 in Northumberland , Pennsylvania , † June 15, 1936 in East Orange , New Jersey ) was an American electrical engineer who dealt with electrical lighting systems towards the end of the 19th century, including those after him named Moore lamp , an early design of a gas discharge tube .

After his training, he was from 1890 to 1894 at United Edison Studios hired, after which he set out with Moore Light Company and Moore Electric Company independently . In 1895 and the following years he developed and improved the Moore lamp, which he patented in 1902. Moore held a total of almost 100 patents, in addition to various gas discharge tubes also patents from the field of radio technology. Moore was shot dead by an unknown person in the courtyard in front of his garage in June 1936.
