Daniel Olmos
Daniel Olmos (* 1938 ) is an Argentine diplomat in retirement .
In 1992 he married Carina Escasamy. He is the nephew of the Chancellor of the former radical President Arturo Illia , Miguel Angel Zavala Ortiz (October 12, 1963 - June 28, 1966). A key source of foreign policy in the universe of the Unión Cívica Radical .
Career
Daniel Olmos studied law at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata and practiced the profession of lawyer . In 1963 he joined the Instituto del Servicio Exterior de la Nación. From 1976 to 1978 the Legation Council was in Caracas and from 1978 to 1982 in Montevideo . From 1983 to 1984, Exequatur served as Consul General in New Orleans . From 1984 to 1989 he was ambassador to Bogotá Colombia during the government of Raúl Alfonsín . From 1991 to 1993 he headed the Instituto del Servicio Exterior de la Nación (ISEN), where diplomats are trained. From 1993 to 1997 he was ambassador to Lisbon (Portugal) under Carlos Menem . The former Foreign Minister of Menem, Guido Di Tella , sent him to observe the elections in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Costa Rica. From 2000 to January 29, 2002 he was ambassador to Santiago de Chile .
