Daniel Peters (politician)

Daniel Peters (* 1981 in Rostock ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania state parliament .

Life

Peters was born in Rostock and lives there. He studied political science and modern history of Europe at the University of Rostock and worked for ten years as a research assistant for the Bundestag member Eckhardt Rehberg . In the municipal elections in 2014 he was elected to the Rostock citizenship, in 2019 he was re-elected. There he is chairman of the CDU / UFR (“Independent Citizens for Rostock”) parliamentary group. Security and order are among the main focuses of his political work.

Daniel Peters ran for the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in 2016 , but was not elected. On March 3, 2020, he replaced the previous CDU state and parliamentary group chairman Vincent Kokert in the state parliament.
