Career

Popescu began playing football at Dunărea Galați and came there in 2006 in the squad of the first team that played in League II at the time . There he was able to establish himself quickly in the team and was able to place his club mostly in the midfield of the league. During the winter break of 2012/13, local rivals Oțelul Galați brought him to League 1 . After only five appearances in the 2012/13 season, he fought for a regular place on the left side of defense at the beginning of the 2013/14 season , which he was able to maintain in the further course of the season. Also in the 2014/15 season , at the end of which Oțelul had to relegate, he was an integral part of the team. Then promoted ACS Poli Timișoara signed him , with whom he could look forward to staying in class at the end of the 2015/16 season . In the summer of 2016 he moved to record champions Steaua Bucharest . There he could not assert himself and was only used three times. In February 2017 he was loaned to CS Concordia Chiajna until the end of the season. After his return he was no longer considered at Steaua. At the beginning of 2018 he left the club for CS Juventus Bucharest, who were threatened with relegation .
