Daniel Reeves

Daniel Reeves , also Dan Reeves (* 1948 in Washington, DC ), is an American cameraman and video artist .

life and work

Daniel Reeves was born in Washington DC in 1948. In 1968 he survived an ambush during a Tet offensive in the Vietnam War .

He received his bachelor's degree from Ithaca College in 1976 . Reeves has been working as a video artist since 1979. His videos as well as his video installations and multimedia works often address the topics of Vietnam, the Spanish Civil War, child abuse, domestic violence, the Gulf War, nuclear war and environmental degradation.

Awards

Among the awards Reeves received are six from the National Endowment for the Arts , three from the New York State Council on the Arts , a Guggenheim Fellowship, and a United States / Japan Fellowship.
