Daniel Sager (born June 10, 1979 in Hamburg ) is a former German soccer player and current coach.
Career
After his time in the youth of Hamburger SV , Daniel Sager moved to SV Waldhof Mannheim for one season in 1998 before joining FC St. Pauli . The former junior national player was initially only used in the reserve and made the leap into the Hanseatic team of licensed players in 2002. With St. Pauli he rose in 2002/03 from the 2nd Bundesliga , in which he had been used five times, in the regional league. In 2004, Sager moved to the Regionalliga Süd to the Stuttgarter Kickers , for which he was active until 2006. From the Kickers he was drawn to the upper division VfL 93 Hamburg , where he also took over his first coaching position in 2007. Since 2009 he has been the coach of SC Concordia in the Hamburg Oberliga . On November 30, 2010 Concordia separated from him because of the sporting misery. For the 2011/12 season he took over the coaching position at USC Paloma Hamburg , where he was released early in February 2012, standing on the 16th place in the league table.
In 2013 he made his comeback as a player at VfB Nordmark Flensburg in the Schleswig-Holstein Association League North-West . After a season he left the club again. He has been coaching the Hamburg state division club Kosova since 2017 .
