Daniel Schönherr

Daniel Schönherr (* 1545 in Marienberg ; † August 24, 1609 in Leipzig ) was an Electoral Saxon lawyer and in 1597 and 1600 mayor of the city of Leipzig .

Career

Schönherr studied law and after completing his studies became a Dr. iur. PhD. In 1596 he became councilor in Leipzig. In the years 1597 and 1600 Schönherr was mayor of the city of Leipzig. In connection with the persecution of the Calvinists , promoted by the council , he lost his offices in 1602 and was sentenced to a fine of 4,000 thalers.
