Johann Peilicke
Johann Peilicke (born March 25, 1536 in Leipzig , † November 30, 1618 there ) was a Saxon lawyer , professor at the University of Leipzig and between 1602 and 1617 mayor of the city of Leipzig six times .
Life
Johann Peilicke is the son of the Mayor of Leipzig Johann Wolfgang Peilicke (* 1511; † 1596). Peilicke studied law and was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD.
Peilicke became a councilor in Leipzig in 1576. In 1581 he was appointed city judge, 1584 builder and 1596 Scabinus. In 1602, 1605, 1608, 1611, 1614 and 1617 Peilicke was mayor of the city of Leipzig.
He was also Professor of Law at the University of Leipzig and Assessor of the Electoral Saxon Schöffenstuhl . Peilicke was the head of the Nikolaikirche in Leipzig .
