Daniela Georgiewa

Daniela Georgieva ( Bulgarian Даниела Георгиева , English transcription Daniela Georgieva, born Спасова - Spassowa - Spasova ; born September 22, 1969 in Sofia ) is a former Bulgarian sprinter who specialized in the 400-meter run .

At the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1994 she was seventh. In 1995 she won bronze at the World Indoor Championships in Barcelona and reached the semi-finals at the World Championships in Gothenburg .

In 1996 she tested positive for methenolone in a doping control . The four-year ban for this doping rule violation was later reduced to two years.

In 2000 she was disqualified at the European Indoor Championships in Ghent after she had brought down Claudia Marx . At the Olympic Games in Sydney she was eliminated in advance.

She moved to the United States with her husband Stanislaw in 2001 , where she now works as a trainer at the University of Missouri .
