Daniela Sommer born Neuschäfer (* 24. November 1978 in Wehrda as Daniela Neuschäfer ) is a German athlete and politician of the SPD Hessen . She is a member of the Hessian state parliament .

Life

From 1999 to 2003, Sommer graduated from the Philipps University of Marburg with a degree in education . She then worked as a pedagogical employee at the German Red Cross and the Caritas Association Wetzlar Lahn-Dill-Eder . From 2006 onwards, as a family manager , she coordinated the family policy of the city of Frankenberg as part of the family city with a future project . From 2010 to 2013 she worked as a research assistant at the University of Kassel .

She is a member of the SPD. In the 2013 election to the Hessian state parliament, she ran as a direct candidate in the Waldeck-Frankenberg II constituency (constituency 6), in which Reinhard Kahl stood for the SPD in the previous elections . In the constituency she was subject to Claudia Ravensburg , but obtained a mandate in the Hessian state parliament via the state list. Sommer was elected deputy chairman of the parliamentary group by the SPD parliamentary group. She is a member of the Council of Elders, as well as a full member of the Social and Integration Policy Committee and the Committee for Science and Art of the Hessian State Parliament .

In the state elections in 2018 she was again defeated by Claudia Ravensburg in the constituency, but despite the losses of the SPD, she entered the state parliament via the state list of social democrats.
