Daniela Storch

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Daniela Storch is a zoologist and climate scientist . She conducts research at the Alfred Wegener Institute .

Life

Storch completed a diploma course in zoology at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and received his doctorate from 1999 to 2003 in the field of integrative ecophysiology at the Alfred Wegener Institute.

Act

In her work, Storch was able to demonstrate the serious negative effects of climate change on fish species such as cod and polar cod if the 1.5-degree target is not met . She also deals with the shift in the distribution limits of species due to climate change.

Storch's research interests include the integrative ecophysiology of marine animals and their early stages in the history of life, and the temperature sensitivity and adaptation of larvae and their formation of biodiversity patterns, combining physiological, ecological and oceanographic data.

Storch has published articles in leading international journals in her field and is a sought-after expert on the effects of climate change on marine life in the media and popular scientific literature. She was also recognized as one of the authors of Chapter 6 on Ocean Systems of the Fifth Assessment Report of the IPCC .
