Tribe list of the von Dalberg family

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The von Dalberg family (actually: Kämmerer von Worms , called von Dalberg ) were a widely ramified German family of the lower nobility , of which some members rose to the high nobility at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries .

origin

The family is the longest surviving and historically most important branch of the extended family of the Chamberlain of Worms , whose ancestors can be traced back to the 11th century.

The line of Dalberg split off at the end of the 14th century with the court master of the Electorate of Palatinate, Johann, as the younger line of the treasurer of Worms, called von Bechtoldsheim , and carried the title of treasurer of Worms, called von Dalberg . In the following years this was often shortened to one by Dalberg in common usage .

  35. In the literature there is a reference that in 1521 a "Philipp von Dalberg" as a knight of the Teutonic Order belonged to the Coming Balga as a compan in 1521 ( Erich Joachim : Die Politik Des Llassung Großmeisters in Preussen Albrecht Von Brandenburg . Books on demand, 2013. ISBN 3-7340-0005-X , p. 380, also (digital scan ) ). At this point in time, this Philipp von Dalberg is the only unmarried person in his family of that name, so he is eligible. In the literature, however, there is always confusion with members of the Kämmerer von Worms family , so that a member of this family also seems possible.
