Act

Philip I was the councilor of the Bishop of Speyer and Burgmann in Oppenheim . Together with his brother Wolfgang III. Treasurer of Worms , called von Dalberg, and members of another branch of the family, he was initially part owner of the village and Herrnsheim Castle. When the sidelines with Adam Kämmerer von Worms († December 6, 1463) died out and he redistributed the family's property with his brother Wolfgang, he became sole owner of Herrnsheim. He and his descendants made Herrnsheim their residence and named themselves after this place.

For this he expanded the existing castle. During this time the stain wall of Herrnsheim was built . The Romanesque village church of the village, St. Peter , was also modernized under him - also as a burial place for the family - in Gothic style by Jakob von Landshut . Philip I and his wife Bärbel were buried there. The late Gothic epitaphs of both spouses have been preserved.

Philip I was a Burgmann in Oppenheim and he owned the Kropsburg with an aristocratic court in Sankt Martin (today: Old Cellar ), tithe rights and lands there as a fief from the Speyer Monastery .
