Friedrich X. von Dalberg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Freiherr Friedrich X. von Dalberg , also: Friedrich Egbert or Friedrich August (born January 19, 1863 , † March 9, 1914 ) was a member of the Dalberg family of imperial knights .

Origin and education

Friedrich was the younger son of Friedrich Ferdinand von Dalberg (1822–1908) and Kunigunde von Vittinghoff-Schell zu Schellenberg (1827–1892). He attended the Stiftsgymnasium Melk , the military high school Mährisch Weißkirchen and in Vienna.

family

Friedrich X. von Dalberg married Karoline on April 26, 1904 (born January 9, 1874; † November 13, 1935), daughter of Joseph Anton von Raab and Maria Ludovika von Bernhausen . The marriage had two children:

  1. Joseph Maria Friedrich (born April 29, 1906 in Datschitz Palace ; † October 16, 1929 in Vienna )
  2. Johannes Evangelist (born June 21, 1909 in Datschitz Castle, † April 21, 1940 in Datschitz Castle).

Since Karl Heribert's marriage resulted in only daughters, Friedrich's sons provided the (last) ancestral owners of the Dalberg family.

The family lived mostly at Rosteř Castle, after the death of their father in Datschitz Castle .

Life

As the younger son, Friedrich X. von Dalberg “only” inherited the Datschitz rule in Moravia , while the older brother, Karl Heribert , inherited the rest of the family property in Bohemia , Bavaria and the Prussian Rhine Province . In an out-of-court settlement between the brothers it was determined that the property located in Bavaria should be Fideikommiss based on the old family contract from 1723.

In the summer of 1888 he toured Egypt and Palestine , about which he published a detailed travel report.

He worked on the editorial staff of the Katholische Arbeiterzeitung , was a co-founder of the Reichspost newspaper , which was close to the Christian Social Party , a party in which he was also involved.
