Daniela Zdunek (born January 4, 1982 in Pleszew , Poland ) is a former German basketball player.

Life

She studied at the Philipps University of Marburg , where she was also the tutor of the “Studium und Sport” program, which aims to bring top international athletes to the University of Marburg in close cooperation with local clubs as part of the student exchange program. As part of this program, she looked after the athletes.

Career

Zdunek started her basketball career at TG Neuss in 1993 . From there she moved to NB Oberhausen and in 2001 to the Bundesliga club BC Marburg . In the 2001/02 season Zdunek was honored as a Bundesliga player with the greatest athletic progress.

In 2000 (U18) and 2002 (U20) she took part in the Junior European Championships for Germany.

In 2003, Zdunek, who was 1.83 m long and was used as center and winger, became German champion and German cup winner with BC Marburg . In addition, she won the bronze medal in the cup competition with BC Marburg in 2002 and 2005. In the 2005/2006 season she suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament . After another cruciate ligament tear at the beginning of the 2007/2008 season, she moved to Friendsfactory Germering in the 2nd division. For the 2010/2011 season she moved to the second division TSV Amicitia Viernheim.
