Daniele Archibugi (born July 17, 1958 ) is an Italian economic theorist and political theorist. He works on the economics and politics of technological change, on the political theory of international relations and on political and technological globalization.

biography

Daniele Archibugi studied Economics at the University of Rome La Sapienza and received his PhD from the University of Sussex . He worked and taught at the Universities of Sussex, Naples, University of Cambridge , Rome, the London School of Economics and Political Science . Since June 2006 he has been an honorary professor at the University of Sussex. He is currently working at the Italian National Science College, CNR in Rome and at the University of London, Birkbeck .

In the field of international relations he and David Held play a key role in the development of cosmopolitanism and cosmopolitan democracy. Held and Archibugi attempt in particular to apply the norms and values ​​of democracy to world politics.

In the field of innovation studies, Archibugi worked with Jonathan Michie to develop a taxonomy of the globalization of technology. They distinguish between three main transfer routes of know-how: international utilization of innovations, global production of innovation and global cooperation in science and technology.
