Daniele Baiesi

Daniele Baiesi (born September 17, 1975 in Bologna ) is an Italian basketball official .

Life

Baiesi completed a commercial apprenticeship, studied politics in Bologna and worked as a journalist for the basketball specialist organization telebasket.com as well as the newspapers Il Domani and Tuttosport and then in public relations for the Euroleague , before moving to the Italian first division club Pallacanestro Biella in 2003. There he was initially in the press department, then from 2005 to 2007 as a manager and player observer and from 2007 to 2009 as a manager and sports director.

From 2009 he was responsible for the worldwide talent scouting for the Detroit Pistons NBA team , at the end of 2014 he signed a three-year contract as sports director with the German Bundesliga club Brose Baskets Bamberg . During his tenure in Bamberg, which lasted until 2017, the team won the German championship in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and the German cup competition in 2017. In July 2017, Baiesi moved to FC Bayern Munich as sports director . In Munich, where his responsibilities include player acquisition, the daily management of the Bundesliga team and the strengthening of structures in the youth and coaching area, FCB under Baiesi has so far won the championship title in 2018 and 2019 and also the cup in 2018.
