Danielle Trussoni (born November 9, 1973 ) is an American writer and journalist .

Trussoni studied history and English literature at the University of Wisconsin – Madison until 1996 . She completed the Iowa Writers' Workshop and has since lived as a freelance writer in the USA and Bulgaria. She writes for The New York Times Book Review , The New York Times Magazine, and The Telegraph Magazine , among others .

Trussoni's book Falling Through the Earth: A Memoir was named one of the New York Times' 2006 Top 10 Books and won several book awards. The following work Angelus (Original: Angelology ) aroused great interest even before publication; seven publishers wanted to bring it out and two film companies bid for the film rights, which eventually went to Columbia Pictures .

Another novel under the title Angelopolis is being planned.
