Danny June Smith (* 1977 in Hanau am Main ) is a German singer and songwriter.
Life
Danny June Smith grew up in Langenselbold, Hesse , and after attending the musical Karl-Rehbein-Gymnasium in Hanau, he first completed classical vocal training, followed by musicals, pop, rock and country.
She has been on the stage since 1983 and has been touring with many different bands since 1999, especially in the country music genre through Germany and Europe, where she performs stages a. a. with Truck Stop , Tom Astor , Gunter Gabriel and the Bellamy Brothers . She traveled to Nashville for several years in a row and played guitar gigs, which she happily accompanies herself on live. She appeared there in 1998 at the legendary Fan Fair.
The genres in which Danny June Smith moves range from country pop and traditionals to German hits, pop rock, musical, folk and 50s / 60s to her own compositions in the field of singer-songwriters.
Since 2009 she has won more than 40 music prizes, including being a winner of the German Rock-Pop Prize (6 times in the category Best Country Singer, 4 times in the category Best Folk Rock Singer, 2 times in the category Best Pop singer and 1 time in the category Best Pop Singer) and the specialist media award in the category “Country Music”. In addition, in February 2013 she received a nomination for the “Darling of the Fans Award” at the German Country Prize in Berlin and achieved third place. In 2014 she was recognized as a “Newcomer” at the German Country Prize in Bergheim near Cologne during the Country Music Fair of the year ”and the“ fan favorite ”. She also took the latter home with her in 2015 and 2016.
After the first album Back in the Bar in 2009, two albums were released in 2013: The country pop album Made in June and the country and German pop album Für Dich all alone under the Rockwerk Records label. All songs come from her pen and were recorded in TonUp Studio by producer Ulrich Pfannmüller with many well-known musicians; Aaron Till (Fiddler from Nashville, among others with Mark Chesnutt and Asleep at the Wheel), Martin Stoeck (drummer of the German cult group Pur), Dirk Schlag (guitarist of among others Truck Stop and Dieter Bohlen), JD Wood (arranger and singer / songwriter) and Dietmar Waechtler on the pedal steel guitar. The fourth album Phoenix was released in October 2017.
In 2012, Danny June Smith was solemnly honored by Jörg Muth, Mayor of Langenselbold, for her numerous musical awards.
Social and political engagement
Danny June Smith is an international advocate for children's and human rights. She has been an ambassador for the Children's Future Foundation since 2014 . Another ambassadorial activity came in 2015 for the children's aid organization Das kunterbunte Kinderzelt e. V. added. Both organizations meet children in need and provide active support on site. In addition, she supports the international peace movement in her texts and works and appeals to peaceful and pacifist coexistence without armed force, which should exclude war as a political tool. In addition, she is active in various animal welfare organizations.

Danny June Smith's songs have been at the top of the Country Music Airplay Charts since 2013 and are now played around the world.
