Career

society

Danny “Pitbull” Mathijssen's career began as a youth player with Willem II Tilburg . From 2001 to June 2005 he played a total of 94 times for the professional team. He made his league debut on August 7, 2001 for Tilburg. He then moved to AZ Alkmaar on a free transfer . After six months in which it was used only once, it was loaned to RKC Waalwijk and NAC Breda . In 2006 he returned to his old club Willem II.

National team

Mathijssen was a junior international of the Netherlands. With the U-21 of the Netherlands he took part in qualifying games for the 2006 World Cup, but was not appointed to the final squad by coach Foppe de Haan .
