Dante Guimarães Amaral

Dante Guimarães Amaral (born September 30, 1980 in Itumbiara , Brazil ) is a Brazilian volleyball player .

Career

Dante Amaral, who plays in the position of outside attacker at a height of 2.03 m, began his professional career in 1999 at the Brazilian club Tres Corações. After further stints at Suzano São Paulo and Minas Belo Horizonte, where he won the Brazilian championship in 2002, Dante moved to the Italian league to Pallavolo Modena . In 2005 Dante moved to the top Greek club Panathinaikos Athens and won a championship , two cups and the Greek Supercup in the following years . Between 2008 and 2011 he was under contract with VK Dynamo Moscow , where he reached the final of the Volleyball Champions League in 2010 . Then he went back to his Brazilian homeland to RJX Rio de Janeiro . From there he moved to Japan to join the Panasonic Panthers. In 2014 he went back to Brazil and played for Funvic Taubaté and EC São José. After another year in Greece, where he won the Greek championship with PAOK Thessaloniki VC, he returned to Funvic Taubaté.

National team

With the Brazilian national team, Dante, who was one of the top performers in his team, won a total of 18 titles. The most important awards are the gold medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and the three World Championships in 2002, 2006 and 2010, which he completed as the best attacker.
