Dario Benuzzi

Dario Benuzzi (born January 1946 in Vignola , Emilia-Romagna ) is an Italian racing driver who became known for his involvement with the car manufacturer Ferrari . He tested the road vehicles from the Ferrari Dino 246 . He also completed Formula 1 test drives for Scuderia Ferrari .

Life

As a test driver at Ferrari, he is responsible for development work, during which he drove five to six hours a day in a Ferrari on their race track, the Pista di Fiorano . His career originally began in 1971 as a mechanic from neighboring Vignola , where he applied for a job at Ferrari. A few years later he started in a prototype department. Over time, he became a test driver.

From the late 1980s to 1993 he was a test driver for Ferrari's Formula 1 racing team.

In the run-up to the 2006 Winter Olympics , Benuzzi was an Olympic torchbearer . He handed the torch to Luca Badoer .
