Dariusch Rezaie

Dariusch Rezaie (also: Dariusch Resaie, Persian داریوش رضایی‌نژاد; * around 1976 ; † July 23, 2011 in Tehran ) was an Iranian scientist .

life and death

Rezaie is described either as a "postgraduate student" in electrical engineering or as a nuclear scientist who was involved in the Iranian nuclear program . He was associated with the KN Toosi University of Technology .

On July 23, 2011, Dariusch Rezaie was killed with two shots in Tehran while he and his wife were trying to pick up his daughter from kindergarten. Iranian authorities suspected that the Israeli secret service Mossad ordered the assassination attempt on the 35-year-old scientist in order to sabotage the Iranian nuclear program. Rezaie's death is part of a series of attacks that began on January 12, 2010 with the murder of the theoretical particle physicist Massud Ali-Mohammadis .
