style

Andreas Schöwe from Metal Hammer assigned Where Evil Dwells to Power Metal and described the music as the "dark version of the early Savatage". The vocals were reminiscent of Jon Oliva, while the drums sounded like Steve Wacholz. thethrashmetalguide.com also assigned the music to Power Metal and drew comparisons to Omen and early Helstar .
