Darney is a small, bowl-shaped impact crater on the front of the moon between Mare Cognitum and Mare Nubium , north of the Lubiniezky crater and southwest of Fra Mauro .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the French astronomer Maurice Darney .
