The Darussalam class includes four offshore patrol boats ( English : Offshore Patrol Vessels) of the Royal Brunei Navy . These are the largest and most flexible ships in the Royal Brunei Navy, often taking part in international exercises and demonstrations.

Background : Nakhoda Ragam contract disputes

First three were Corvettes of Nakhoda Ragam- class of BAE Systems Marine (now BAE Systems Maritime - Naval Ships ) was built for the Royal Brunei Navy. The contract was at 1,995 GEC-Marconi been awarded and the ships, a variant of the F2000, ran in January 2001, June 2001 and June 2002 in the former shipyard BAE Systems Marine in Scotstoun , Glasgow , from the stack . However, Brunei refused to accept the three Nakhoda Ragam class corvettes from BAE Systems. The contractual disputes were settled in arbitration in favor of BAE System. The ships were handed over to Royal Brunei Technical Services in June 2007 . Brunei commissioned the German Lürssen shipyard to find a new customer for the three ships, and these were ultimately bought by the Indonesian Navy for a fifth of the original unit price .

construction

Brunei ordered the Darussalam class ocean patrol boats from Lürssen after the shipyard had sold the Nakhoda Ragam class corvettes . The first two ships were delivered in January 2011. The second lot with two more ships was delivered in 2014.
