The Testament is a musical comedy in two acts premiered in 1916 at the Volksoper in Vienna by Wilhelm Kienzl , who also wrote the libretto (based on motifs by Peter Rosegger ).
Initially a great success, the opera was last performed in 1927 and only rediscovered in 2007 on the occasion of the composer's 150th birthday and performed at the Landestheater Linz under the direction of Andreas Baesler and on the set by Harald Thor.
