The iTeam - The Boys at the Mouse is a comedy series from Sat.1 . The focus is on nerds working in an IT department and their special worldview.

The two computer freaks Tom Zacher and Gabriel Baumann work in the IT department at Bornholm AG. Your office, in which according to the relevant clichés, there is disorder and chaos, is located in the basement of the modern company headquarters. They are unbeatable in their specialty, but they have clear deficits in dealing with other people. The head of the company is Oswald Bornholm, whose moods are as changeable as his management methods. So he hires the young Sandy Grünwald as the new IT manager. Although they don't understand anything about computers, they have charm and communication skills and want to polish up the reputation of the IT department within the company.

The series is a remake of the English comedy series The IT Crowd , the scripts of which have been largely adopted. The original title Das iTeam - Die Jungs mit der Maus was slightly changed at the beginning of the series because of its ambiguity (mouse = Sandy Grünwald). After two episodes, Sat.1 initially stopped broadcasting due to low audience ratings. The other four episodes were later shown on the pay TV channel Sat.1 Comedy .
criticism
This German adaptation of the English series The IT Crowd was heavily criticized in relevant Internet forums . In particular, the acting and the poor transmission of the original scripts, which largely fell by the wayside British humor, were criticized. Also Graham Linehan , creator of the original series, did not spare criticism ( Oh, dear God, what have I done? ).
