Datuk Zakaria Sulong

Datuk Zakaria Sulong (born December 3, 1952 in Kuala Lumpur ) is a Malaysian diplomat .

He has been working in the diplomatic service since 1975. Among other things, he worked in the East Asia Department of the Foreign Ministry. He later worked in the embassy in Tokyo , in the consulate general in Pontianak and in the embassy in Bangkok . Between 1989 and 1993 he headed the “Southeast Asia II” department in the Foreign Ministry and later the “Finance” department. From 1996 to 1998 he was Consul General in Hong Kong . In 2002 he was appointed ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina . Since 2007 he has been working as an ambassador in Berlin . He speaks English, is married and has three children.
