Daucus broteri is a species of the carrot genus( Daucus ).

features

Daucus broteri is an annual stem thermophyte that reaches heights of 10 to 30 (rarely up to 50) centimeters. The stem is erect or ascending, heavily branched at the base. The leaves are bi-pinnate. The umbellate is not contracted. The envelope is maximally as long as the umbel rays is hardly noticeable. The petals are white or pink and 1 to 2.5 millimeters in size. The fruit is 4 to 6 millimeters in size. The side rib spines are clearly confluent-winged at the bottom.

The flowering period extends from May to June.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 20.

Occurrence

Daucus broteri occurs in the eastern Mediterranean . It grows in fields and on coasts. Its distribution area includes Italy, Albania, Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Crete, the Aegean Sea, European and Asian Turkey, Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel and the Sinai Peninsula.
