Dave Petitjean

Joseph Dave Petitjean Jr. (born January 11, 1928 in Rayne , Louisiana , USA - † June 18, 2013 in Lafayette , Louisiana) was an American actor .

Live and act

Dave Petitjean's parents were in the seed business and ran a land trade depot in Rayne. At the age of 16, he briefly attended Louisiana State University before joining the United States Navy during World War II and serving aboard the warship USS Estes . After the war, he studied agriculture at the Southwest Louisiana Institute , now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette . After completing his training, he worked for the chemical company Olin Corporation for 25 years . He then worked for an insurance company until 2000 .

Petitjean also appeared part-time as an actor. He has had supporting roles in films such as The Big Easy and Angel Heart, as well as in television films and series such as In the Heat of the Night . He also released three CDs with stereotypical short stories about the Cajun .

In the last years of his life, Petitjean suffered from Alzheimer's disease , which forced him to quit acting. He died at the age of 85 in a retirement home, leaving behind his wife Audrey, with whom he had been married since 1950, and their two sons Joseph and George.
