David Bernet (2016)

David Bernet (born 1966 in Rheineck , Switzerland) is a Swiss filmmaker and director . He became known in autumn 2015 for his documentary film Democracy - Im Rausch der Daten , for which he accompanied the legislative processes of the European Union on site for over two years and which was awarded the German Documentary Film Prize in 2017 .

Life

Bernet studied literature and philosophy in Vienna and Berlin . Since 1995 he has worked as a journalist for various print and radio newsrooms. He later also worked as an author, production manager and researcher for documentary film productions, for example for Nikolaus Geyrhalter's award-winning Our Daily Bread .
