David Connolly (born June 11, 1980 in Heatherbrook ) is a former Irish skeleton athlete .

David Connolly started playing skeleton in 2002 and has been a member of his country's national team ever since. He contested his first race in January 2003 in Igls as part of the World Cup and finished 34th. This was followed by participation in the 2003 Skeleton World Cup in Groningen , where the Irishman finished seventh. From January 2004 he started in the Skeleton America's Cup , the Skeleton European Cup and the Skeleton Challenge Cup . In November 2005 he achieved his best result with a 15th place in Lake Placid , in the European Cup a 21st place in December 2005 in Koenigssee was his best result. A month later he won a race in the Challenge Cup in the same place. End of career and at the same time highlight was the 2006 Olympic Winter Games of Turin , where Connolly was 20th.
