David Davison (born April to June 1916) was an English football goalkeeper and coach . As a player, he was at Chelmsford City FC and second division Blackburn Rovers FC between the posts. His documented work as a coach is limited to the British armed forces in Germany after the war , the Dutch first division club Heracles Almelo 1948/49 and FC Bayern Munich 1950.

In March 1939 David Davison transferred at the age of 22 for a sum of £ 500 from Chelmsford City FC , a club of the Southern League to the second division of the Football League Blackburn Rovers FC .

After the war he was the coach of the British Armed Forces soccer team in Germany. In July 1948, then 34 years old, he became the coach of Heracles Almelo , a club of the Eerste Klasse Oost , the eastern season of the top Dutch league, where he succeeded the player- coach Koldewey (who in turn was the successor to Leslie Lievesley , who coached Il Grande Torino at Superga air disaster died). In February 1949 he was dismissed after a violent argument with the groundskeeper . At this point in time, the club was no longer impressed by his achievements. At the end of the season, Heracles was third.

In May 1950 he was hired by the league club FC Bayern Munich to succeed Alv Riemke as coach for the 1950/51 season . After William Townley , who had worked on the Isar for decades , he was the second former Blackburn Rovers man at the club. In November Bayern were only two points outside the relegation zone and after the club learned of Davison's involvement in a pub brawl, he was sacked here too. In the meantime, the former player Simon took over the training and Conny Heidkamp took over the team support and later Bertl Moll joined, under whom the club finished the season in ninth place. At the same time, the signing of the sixties coach Max Schäfer for the coming season was announced.
