David Honey
David John Honey (born April 18, 1958 in Mount Barker , Western Australia ) is an Australian chemist, manager and Liberal Party politician . He has been a member of the Legislative Assembly , the lower house of Western Australia , since March 2018 .
Career
Honey studied chemistry at the University of Western Australia , where she earned a Bachelor with Honors and subsequently a PhD . Honey then worked for the aluminum manufacturer Alcoa , before moving into politics, he was the global manager responsible for residue treatment . Since 2012 he has also chaired the Kwinana Industries Council, an interest group of industrial companies based in Kwinana and Rockingham .
politics
Honey was Liberal Party President from 1994 to 1997. In the by - election made necessary by Colin Barnett's withdrawal , he ran for his vacant seat in the Cottesloe constituency . Here he was able to prevail on March 17, 2018 with a clear lead over Greg Boland of the Greens . Labor had not put up a candidate in the constituency that the Liberals considered safe ( English blue ribbon ). In Parliament, Honey is the member of the shadow cabinet responsible for water issues .
Private
Honey is married and has six children. He has lived in Cottesloe since the mid-1980s, where he is also an active member of the local surf life saving group .
