David Hunt (racing driver)

David Hunt (born May 20, 1960 in Belmont , London , † October 12, 2015 ) was a British racing car driver and the younger brother of Formula 1 world champion James Hunt .

Career

David Hunt started racing at the age of 15 and switched to Formula Ford in 1981 . Between 1983 and 1987 he took part in the British Formula 3 championships . In 1988 he competed in the International Formula 3000 Championship and in the same year switched to the Formula 1 racing team Benetton Formula as a test driver . He then ended his racing career.

In 1994 he bought Team Lotus from the bankruptcy estate . About the name and logo rights, he agreed in 2010 with the leaders of Team Lotus Racing , the 2011 then took up under the old name.

In 2015, David Hunt died of a heart attack .
