David L. Lambert

David L. Lambert (* 1939 ) is a British-American astronomer who studies stellar atmospheres, the chemical composition of stars and the chemical evolution of the universe.

Lambert grew up in England. He graduated from the University of Oxford and received his PhD in 1965. In 1967 he went to the USA and initially worked at the California Institute of Technology , and since 1969 at the University of Texas at Austin , where he became a professor in 1974. From 2003 to 2014 he was director of the McDonald Observatory at the University of Texas.

David L. Lambert is a member of the International Astronomical Union .
