David Latasa

David Latasa Lasa (born February 14, 1974 in Pamplona ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

David Latasa began his professional career in 1998 with the Spanish cycling team Banesto . In his second year he won a stage in the Tour de l'Avenir , his only professional victory so far. After five years at Banesto, he moved to Kelme-Costa Blanca in 2003 and , since 2004, to Comunidad Valenciana . At the Vuelta a España 2004 he made it on the 20th stage in third place behind the winner José Enrique Gutiérrez .

Latasa started twice in the Tour de France : in 2002 he finished 84th and in 2003 he was 73rd. In 2001 he finished 35th in the Giro , and he started three times in the Vuelta a España . In 2005 he won the mountain classification of the Tour of the Basque Country .

In the wake of the doping scandal in Fuentes , Latasa's name was included on the list of drivers who are said to have been a customer of the controversial doctor Eufemiano Fuentes .
