David Martot (born February 1, 1981 in Fécamp ) is a French football player .

Career

Martot first played with the US Fécamp in his hometown. There he was accepted into the squad of the fourth division team in 1997 at the age of 16 and was regularly used for them. As a result, he was signed by the professional club Le Havre AC in 1998 , where he was initially in the squad of the reserve team and thus continued to play in the fourth division. For the season 2000/01 he was included in the professional selection, which at that time competed in the top French division. However, Martot never played for a team that consisted of 35 players at the time. Two years later, on September 28, 2002, he made his first division debut in a 4-0 draw against CS Sedan , where he was substituted on in the 85th minute. In the following time he was able to establish himself as a regular player, which he remained after relegation to the second division at the end of his first season. In 2007 he moved on loan for one year to English third division club Brighton & Hove Albion and played abroad for the first time in his career.

After his return to Le Havre, his contract was not extended there and Martot found a new employer in the second division club OC Vannes . He remained loyal to the club where he was a regular until his contract was not extended after relegation to the third division in 2011. After that, he was without a club for six months before signing with fourth division USJA Carquefou in January 2012 . He received a regular place in Carquefou and reached the club's first ascent to the third division in the summer of 2012. In 2013 he returned to his homeland Fécamp and was re-accepted into the squad of US Fécamp; at the same time he was given responsibility for a local football school for children.
