David McNally (Director)

David McNally (* 1960 in London or Liverpool , England ) is a British - American film and television director and screenwriter . He became known to the general public through the films Coyote Ugly (2000) and Kangaroo Jack (2003).

Life

McNally was born in England but grew up in Montreal, Canada, from the age of five . Today he lives in Los Angeles .

McNally has a daughter.

Career

McNally, who played in a band himself, began his professional career directing music videos . Later he increasingly directed commercials . His most famous commercial is the "Lobster Commercial" for Budweiser , which was first broadcast during the 33rd Super Bowl . The commercial was voted the most popular Super Bowl commercial of 1999, among other things.

He made his film directorial debut with Coyote Ugly (2000), followed in 2003 by Kangaroo Jack . Together with Tyler Bensinger, he developed the 2006 law series Justice - Not Guilty , for which he also worked as a screenwriter and executive producer .
