David Means
David Means (born October 17, 1961 in Kalamazoo ) is an American writer.
Life
David Means attended high school in Kalamazoo and studied literature at the College of Wooster (BA) and Columbia University (MFA). Means worked intermittently as a lecturer at Vassar College . Today he lives with his wife and twins in Nyack near New York.
His short stories have appeared in Esquire , The New Yorker and Harper’s , among others . He published several anthologies. His first novel Hystopia was on the longlist of the Man Booker Prize in 2016 .
